4th Network Meeting of Young Academics of Sorbian Studies

date: 30.06.2023 - 01.07.2023
Event location: Bautzen

For the fourth time, the Sorbian Institute invites young researchers to a networking meeting. The focus of the meeting is on interdisciplinary exchanges and networking among researchers who are working or planning to work on the Sorbs/Wends in a regional or topic-specific way.

Two consecutive days offer participants a forum to present and discuss their own research projects. Contributions on specific topics, e.g. pertaining to linguistics, cultural studies, history or other social sciences, are just as welcome as transdisciplinary projects anchored in comparative minority studies or digital humanities. Participants who would like to present their research project (e.g. bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral thesis, post-doctoral project) are asked to submit a project outline (max. one A4 page) together with a short curriculum vitae (including field of study, place of work and the current focus of research).

This meeting will also serve to reflect on the Sorbian Studies’ understanding of networks. Furthermore, special attention will be given to the conditions and perspectives of interdisciplinary cooperation. All suggestions for discussion panels are welcome!

The working languages of the meeting are Upper and Lower Sorbian, German and English.

Proceedings:

A maximum of 30 minutes including discussion is allotted for each project presentation. Further details regarding the content of the various panels will be agreed after the closing date for registration in consultation with the participants.
