Series of publications “Schriften des Sorbischen Instituts”

Since 2026 (Volume 73), the academic publisher Frank & Timme (Berlin) has been publishing the interdisciplinary series of publications of the Sorbian Institute. The publications are available both as open-access editions and in print.

The series has been published since the re-founding of the Sorbian Institute in 1992. It continues the series published by its predecessor, the Institute of Sorbian Ethnography between 1954 and 1990 (a total of 58 volumes; from 1992 onwards, the count starts again). The publication series is dedicated to the publication of new research results on the language, history and culture of the Sorbs/Wends as well as comparative minority research. On the one hand, the series documents the research activities as well as meetings and conferences of the Sorbian Institute. On the other hand, externally produced research is also included, as long as it lies within the research spectrum of the Sorbian Institute. The series was published by Domowina-Verlag GmbH in Bautzen until 2025 (vol. 72).
